How To Learn effectively : Focused mode and Diffused mode

INTRODUCTION

In this blog you will learn how to learn effectively with the focused and the diffused modes of thinking . You will find new ways to improve your skills and techniques for learning .You can benefit from these ideas whether you're struggling in high school or especially related to math and science.

We have 2 fundamentally different modes of thinking .
1.The Focused mode
2.The Diffused mode
                           Let me explain briefly.

1.The Focused mode - when you are concentrating on a certain topic that you're trying to learn your brain is in focused mode. You're brain works with familiar ideas to understand a topic in detail.

2.The Diffused mode - Diffuse thinking is what happens when your mind relaxes providing space for daydreaming and wandering thoughts. Diffuse thinking allows your subconscious to make unexpected connections between disparate ideas.

You're  either in the focused mode or diffused mode of thinking. It seems that you can't be in the both thinking modes at the same time. It's kind like a coin.We can see either one side or the other side of the coin.

How to use these modes in learning ?

If you look at the guy right there he was Salvador Dali, a very well known surrealist painter of the 20th century. He was  a crazy guy. You could see him here with his pet ocelot Babou. Dali used to have an interesting technique to help him come with his fantastically creative surrealist paintings. He'd relax in his chair and let his mind go free, often still vaguely thinking about what he had been previously focusing on. He'd have a key in his hand dangling it just above the floor, and as he would slip into his dreams falling asleep, the key would fall from his hands and the clatter would wake him up, just in time so he could gather up those diffuse mode connections and ideas in his mind and off he'd go back into the focus mode bringing with him the new connections and ideas in his mind and off he'd go back in the focus mode bringing with him new connections he'd made while in the diffuse mode.

So the bottom line is when you're learning something new especially something that's a little more difficult ,you're mind needs to be able to go back and forth between the two different learning modes.
To build neural structure ,you need to do a little work everyday gradually allowing yourself to grow to hang your thinking on a little bit every day and that's the trick.

Conclusion
I feel that this might motivate you to learn effectively by using the  focused and the  diffused modes of learning. If you have any queries  about this blog you can ask it in the comments section.
