How To Remember Everything You Learn

 Introduction

In this blog we are going to talk about some essentials to remember everything you learn . There are 3 techniques to remember everything  you learn.

 1.Recall
2.Feynman Technique
3.Spaced Repetition

 1. Recall

One of the most common approaches for trying to learn material from a book or from a notes is simply to reread it. But psychologist, Jeffrey Kapricke, has shown that this approach is actually much less productive than another very simple technique called Recall. After you've  read the material simply look away and see what you can recall from the material you've  just read.

In one research published in journal science provided a solid evidence along these lines. Students studied a scientific text and then practiced it by recalling as much of information as they could. Then they restudies that text again and recalled it again. That is  they tried to remember the key ideas once more. The results are the students who just recalled the materials learned much more deeper than they just reread it.

Using recall the mental retrieval of the key ideas rather than passive rereading will make your time more focused and effective.

2.Feynman Technique

Richard Phillips Feynman was an American theoretical physicist. He created a technique to learn difficult subjects by using his own technique called the Feynman Technique. He has 4 points to use this technique let's get into it.

  • Take something you want to learn.
  • Write down the explanation as if you were teaching it someone who didn't understand.
  • Whenever you get stuck go back to the material and relearn - Fill in the gaps in your knowledge until you can write an explanation without material.
  • Simplify it to someone who doesn't know the thing what you are learning.

3.Spaced Repetition

Lebron James has put in 10s of thousands of hours shooting hoops for many years.
The musicians practiced music for years before they become the masters of that art. Why don't we do that with information and arguments? One of the big reason is people think that our brain is like a computer but it doesn't  it much more like a muscle it needs to be exercised likewise our brain's  neural connections is to be strengthened. The more often you use the neurons grappling with the information  the stronger your understanding will become towards the information.

If you read, recall and do the Feynman technique over a scheduled days you can easily store the information in  your long term memory.

Conclusion

You don't  need to memorize and understand everything that comes your way. Is to spend more time thinking about one thig rather than thinking about many things in one time. You can also use these techniques to tackle the illusions of Competence.
