Pollution: What is it?? How does it occurs??

What is Pollution?  Pollution is the undesirable change in the physical, chemical or biological characteristics of the air, water or land that can harmfully affect the health, survival or activities of humans or other living organisms. How does it occurs?? Unwanted chemicals or other materials found in the air can harm health, environment and property. Many air pollutants occur as gases or vapours, but some are very tiny solid particles: dust, smoke that can cause serious health problems. Pollution can take two major forms: local and global. In the past, only local pollution was thought to be a problem. For example coal burning produces smoke, which is sufficient concentrations can be a health hazard in a particular locality. One slogan, taught in schools, was " The solution to pollution is dilution." The theory was that sufficiently diluted pollution could cause no damage.  The twentieth century has seen population approch crisis proportions throught the world. At issu...

Protection of Wildlife Introduction  The animals that inhabit our national parks capture our curiosity and hearts. Our national parks provide some of the best, and sadly some of the last, remaining habitats of countless species. How to protect our wildlife?? In fact, one-third of endangered and threatened species of our nation can be found within park boundaries. But many of our national parks are being impacted by nearby development, recreational uses, and other human activities. Our parks and our wildlife are in jeopardy (loss) Many wildlife species are headed toward extinction, and many important habitat are being destroyed. The situation may seem hopeless, but if everyone makes a small effort, we can make a big difference. And thus by protecting our environment . Each one of us can play a important role in protecting wildlife an their homes. World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is dedicated to stopping the degradation of the planet's natural environment and building a future in whic...

Environmental Conservation: 6 ways to conserve the environment

INTRODUCTION :           An ecological crisis occurs when the environment of species or a population changes in a way that destabilises its continued survival. There are many possible causes of such crises. There are also threats to the Environment                          It may be that the quality of the environment degrades to the disadvantage of the species need after a change of abiotic ecological factor. For example, an increase in temperature, less rainfall. It may be that the environment becomes unfavurabe for the survival of a species of a population die to an increased pressure of predation. Lastly, it may be the the situation becomes unfavorable to the quality of life of the species de to increase in the number of individuals.  IN ORDER TO CONSERVE YOUR ENVIRONMENT : PLANT A TREE : Plant a tree or grow a garden. Plants turn carbon dioxide into the oxygen we need to breathe....

Threats to Environment: Natural threats and human threats

Introduction                                 Not all the changes to the planet's ecosystems are perceived as problems. Only those that affect us are, particularly those that affect us now. All our problems are caused by only us.  Ecological problems grow faster than the rate of population and the growth of world 🌎 economy. Threats to the Environment There are many threats to the Environment. These threats are divided into 2 categories. Natural threats and Human threats. Natural threats consists of earthquakes, volcanic eruption, landslides and cyclones. Human mediated threats consists of deforestation, destruction of habitat and pollution. Natural threats Earthquakes Earthquake  is a trembling or shaking movement of the earth's surface. Most earthquakes are minor tremors. Larger earthquakes usually begin with slight tremors but rapidly take the form of one or more violent shocks and end in v...
